Sharp increase in traffic in Northern Europe by 2025

Port activity is doing well in Europe and will grow significantly by 2025.
A study by Ocean Shipping Consultants (OSC) indicates an activity of 57.9 m TEUs in 2011 for North European ports. This equates to an increase of 22% since 2009 and 84% since 2001. Demand is rising everywhere and long-term prospects are good.
The outlook for CSOs by 2025 by developing port area are: North Continent: 33-52% (52.6 / 60.2 m TEU) for 2011-20, and 14-18% (59.7 / 71.8 m TEUs) in in 2025; the British Isles: 39-59% (12.9 /14.8 m TEUs) in 2011-20 and 13-18%
The port regions studied are: Continental North (northern ports of France, Belgium and the Netherlands, Germany, North Sea), British Isles (UK and Ireland), Nordic-Baltic (Scandinavia and the Baltic Sea: Finland , Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Baltic, Poland).
