Kinnow exports exceed objectives

In Pakistan, the export objectives concerning Kinnow is reached before the end of the season.
The spokesman of PDCA, the organization of exporters of fruits and vegetables, has announced that the country would exceed its export target for Kinnow. The goal was 300 000 tons exported and will be exceeded from 15 to 20 000 tons with other shipments that have yet to be accounted for by the end of the month. This year the production of Kinnow totaled 2.1 million tons.
To compete in foreign markets, research on new varieties of Kinnow are developed. With these new varieties, the traditional season (short, from December to April) could be modified in several months (October to May, long season).
