United States
Friday 20 May 2005
If the Florida Department of Citrus has its way, Florida grapefruit growers could be hit with a 100 percent tax increase on each box of fruit they harvest during the 2005-06 season.
The department is proposing a tax of 50 cents per box in order to fund its marketing programme.
The proposal has to be approved by the Florida Citrus Commission.
