Exports of Brazilian melons start well the new 2014-15 season with an increase of 3%.
The new 2014-15 season starts well for exports of melons from Brazil.
According to the data of Foreign Trade ( SECEX ) , melon exports reached 34,600 tons , for the months of August and September. An increase by 3% compared to the same period in 2013-14 and with a higher value of 1.7% (28.8 million USD).
Regarding the destinations, the European Union is still the No. 1 customer, it even increased its request by 3.8% compared to the previous season. New destination with Chile that has just started its 1st imports of Brazilian melons.
