South Africa has revised down its forecast table grape harvest.
Difficult weather conditions has seen production of table grapes drop.
Heavy rains and hail in some regions will cause a decrease of 3% of production according to SATI (South African Table Grape Industry).
It is too early to make the exact calculation of the damage, but the loss is estimated at 500,000 cartons (each weighing 4.5 kg). Production will fall and is expected to come in at 17.3 to 17.7 million cartons in 2011-12.
