Brazil exceeded $1.2 billion in fruit exports during 2023, setting a remarkable record with a significant increase of +26.73% compared to the previous year. In addition, the volume of exports also increased by 6%.
This success highlights the diversity of fruits grown in Brazil and the continuous growth, underlining the global recognition of the quality of Brazilian products in international markets.
Mangoes lead exports with an increase of +51.52% in value and +15% in volume, exceeding 266 thousand tonnes. Melons are in second place in exports in 2023, with more than 228,000 tonnes and generating revenues of $189 million. These results represent a significant growth of +20.93% in value and +2.61% in volume.
Avocado also continues to excel, reaching an impressive record of over 128% in value and an astonishing 143% in volume in the current season, reflecting the growing popularity of this fruit.
This success is partly attributed to the opening of new markets in recent years, the result of collaboration between ABRAFRUTAS and the Brazilian Federal Government, through the Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) and the Brazilian Agency for Export and Investment Promotion (ApexBrasil).
