The innovative project of Agro T18 for agriculture with low environmental impact
FJ
Synergy is possible says Agro T18 (entity "production" of the T18 group) to establish a virtuous circle for agricultural production with low environmental impact and competitive prices.
Massimo Longo, Commercial Director of T18, presented Racconigi (Cn) the project "Sinergie" that would achieve the same production at a competitive price and with a much lower environmental impact. Through the use of biogas for heating greenhouses, rather than continue to use traditional heating systems with high costs and emissions.
In the Piedmont region, many farms have biogas plants that operate with residues of cereals (maize in particular). The energy (electricity and hot water) is not fully utilized, and could be suitable for heating greenhouses. A phase of testing was conducted and concluded with positive results.
In all seasons the production of tomatoes and peppers is possible at a competitive price and with a low environmental impact.
