In the state of Michoacán, asparagus production increased by 750%

A remarkable rate of 750% increase for the production of asparagus in the state of Michoacán.
The state of Michoacán is known for its remarkable agricultural production which includes about twenty products of which it is national leader. Its production of asparagus was minimal but it is now changing.
In less than 4 years the production of asparagus in the state of Michoacán has just achieved a remarkable performance. According to the Secretariat of Rural Development, in 2013 the state counted only 50 hectares of asparagus for a production of 129 tons, maintaining the areas reaches 175 hectares and the production reaching 1 100 tons of asparagus. That is an increase of 750%.
Production already massively exported, including to the most demanding markets. The state of Michoacán now ranks 6th among the Mexican states producing asparagus. Other states of the country producing asparagus: Sonora, Guanajuato, Baja California Sur, Baja California, Queretaro, Michoacán, Coahuila, Nuevo León.
