INIA presents new potato variety

The National Institute of Agrarian Innovation of Perú (INIA) presented the new potato variety INIA 334 – LLAPANCHISPAQ.
Its good genetic composition will allow a yield of 20 to 30 tons per hectare. In addition, the new potato will provide producers in the Puno region with an increase of more than 90% in economic profitability.
INIA 334 – LLAPANCHISPAQ stands out for its antioxidant and anticancer characteristics, and high concentrations of zinc and iron.
In addition, it is resistant to the main diseases and pests, and is tolerant to the possible effects of climate change.
INIA 334 – LLAPANCHISPAQ produces up to 25 tubers; it has a vegetative period of 4 to 5 months; It adapts well to the agroecological conditions of the high plateau of Peru and at altitudes of 2,500 to 4,000 meters above sea level in the Andean region.
