One of the most anticipated events for fans of American football in Mexico and the United States is approaching, Super Bowl LVII, in which the Mexican avocado will play an important role.
The fruit will be accompanying the tortilla chips and roasts for the soccer party on February 12.
It should be noted that Michoacán and Jalisco are the only Mexican states authorized by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to export this fruit to the US.
For the event season, it is projected to export 130,000 tons from both states, said the governor of Michoacán, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla.
The president of the Association of Avocado Producers and Packers of Jalisco (Apeajal), Javier Medina Villanueva, specified that 500 containers of the Jalisco fruit would be sent for the event. He completed that at the same time the fruit continues to be sent to the markets of Europe and Asia.
The 10 authorized municipalities of Jalisco will be in charge of sending 10,000 tons to the US, which represents 8% of the total expected to be exported.
