Chinese consumption requires more and more imported products

The standard of living is rising , the middle class in China has given rise to a new type of consumer , taking into account the safety and taste of the food the market turns to imported products.

 

China imported in 2014 about 320 000 tonnes of fresh milk (+ 73.5%) , 283,000 tonnes of sheep meat (+ 9.3%), 71.4 million tons of soybeans (+ 12.7% ) , 383 million liters of wine (+ 1.6%) and 9.19 billion USD for fruit (+ 6.3%) .

 

The authorities estimate that imports of agricultural products will climb in the coming years, particularly for fruit , wine , meat and dairy products.The country will also continue to establish trade agreements with major world agricultural exporters including Australia , the United States, Chile , Brazil and Argentina.
