Strikes in Chilean ports disrupt exports of fresh fruits.
Fedefruta Association estimates losses to 65 million U.S. $ for the sector.
Strikes paralyzing several ports of Chile lead to catastrophic losses to the industry of fruits ("Perdidas catastróficas" according to Fedefruta. These strikes disrupt exports and prevent shipments, while the demand from Asian markets increases significantly.
Producers/exporters are worried, the season is well advanced, the production has been seriously diminished by frost in September. And these strikes will allow to respect commitments with foreign buyers.
