The William pear harvest will be lower of 30 % compared to last year.
Drought has led to a decrease in expected production.
The CSO (Centro Servizi ortofrutticoli) announces a decrease of almost 7.6% compared to forecast made in early July. The CSO predicts a 30% drop in production compared to 2011.
The drought has severely affected production areas. This new lower supply for the William pear in 2012-2013 puts this production at one of the lowest levels in recent years.
