The CAP reform adopted by the European Parliament
FJ
The CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) and its reforms for the period 2014-2020.
The European Parliament recently adopted the reform of the CAP for the period 2014-2020. Reduction of subsidies to larger farms and increased environmental requirements. Reform to make it simpler and fairer the method of distribution of direct payments and subsidies unrelated to production volumes.
The aids will be calculated in proportion to the exploited surface. The States may, however, prefer other methods. Some large farms risk losing 40% of their grants, but states can limit this loss to 30%. Young farmers will benefit from increased aids.
Starting from 2015, the payment of 30% of direct aids will be linked to "green" activities (diversification of cultures fallow lands ...).
