The outlook for the avocado sector is positiv

First, the expansion of its Asian markets with the entry into the Chinese market . After negotiations at the highest level between the two countries, entry permit seems imminent. Since the entry authorization given to avocados in China , Chile and those of Mexico, there is no longer any technical reason not to allow New Zealanders avocados.

Secondly, exports to South Korea , one of the three major markets in NZ avocados, should increase with the consequent decrease in applied tariffs.

Finally, avocado production in Australia and more precisely in the region " Western Australia " is less than the initial estimates. In this summer period when the demand is strong in Australia , this lack of production will boost NZ exports.
