Turkish fruit producer launches its new brand on the eve of the cherry season
VU | Art Meyve Tarim A.S.
Art Meyve is a family business run by Berkay Sensoy, the actual marketing & sales director, and his brother-in-law Yilmazhan Ertan, who is in charge of the logistics operations.
The company was founded in Istanbul in 2017. Its story began with supplies of Turkish cherries to only two destinations, Hong Kong and Singapore.
In the past four years, Art Meyve reached markets in China, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia in the Far East, as well as India and the UAE. In the west, they are exporting to Canada, France, Poland, and the UK.
“In 2021, we will focus on the UK and Ireland markets, as we have laid a solid ground for a marketing & sales partnership with TECK for these countries. In these markets, we aim to increase our brand awareness and market presence in the long run, as our customers discover our flexible solutions, particularly for their partial-delivery needs. And we strongly believe that our new partner’s experience in perishable goods trade will be a perfect match with our capabilities for supplying the top quality products and delivering them skilfully within surprisingly short lead times”, said Mr. Sensoy.
“We are focusing on air-cargo deliveries, and we are very proud of delivering our products within 24 hours. For our customers in Europe, we can also offer land freight shipments in line with their needs, this time within five days”
Mr. Sensoy expressed his excitement about launching their new brand Orcharts. With this brand, their primary product will remain cherries. Besides, they will export pomegranates, figs, and apples.
“We have a new brand identity, which reflects the way we do business: resourceful, rigorous, and human. We invite everyone to discover our new website to know us better”
Concerning the upcoming cherry season, which is expected to start in late May, Mr.Berkay stressed the availability of Ziraat 900 known as Napoleon and Regina varieties, which all have a well-deserved popularity in the global markets with their taste and appearance.
“Last year’s harvest was a good one. Our customers were very satisfied with the harvest quality and outbound volume. It was the first time we closed deals with Shanghai and Guangzhou. We expect to deliver to China again this year. The additional measures for hygiene, particularly against Covid19, will remain to be the top priority”, assured Mr. Sensoy.
“This year, we will be equipped a lot better, as our solution partner’s high-end investment in Unitec’s Cherry Vision 3.0 brings our efficiency to a new level. The system provides us unmatched reliability in the sorting of cherries according to multiple parameters, so cherries can effectively be divided into different classes. In combination with high-performance colour selection, we are able to deliver the exact quality our customers are asking for”, he added.
“We enjoy what we do. We love the smile when people take the first bite of sweet juicy cherry. This helps us to form close relationships with our customers. We are not only doing good business, but we share our cultures with one another. On top of it, when we fulfil our motto of “Freshly picked, swiftly delivered” without exception, shaking hands with our customers with trust is priceless”, concluded Mr. Sensoy.
