Mangas can improve eating habits of children

Reading of manga (Japanese comics) can influence eating habits of children.
A study conducted in the state of New York in the United States has just proven that reading of manga can encourage children to eat fruits. A test group was given a manga entitled "Fight for your right to the fruits!" and the other group a manga whose scenario was not related to health.
Later, scientists have asked the children to choose either snack A (oranges, grapes, apples, strawberries) or snack B (cookies, crackers ...). The snack "health" was chosen by 61% of readers of manga "fruits" against 35% of the regular manga readers.
Mangas are, according to the researchers, one medium to strong and powerful images that combined the words plunging the reader into the world of storytelling. This immersion in the narrative can therefore be used to influence certain behaviors in children, and as here, improve their eating habits.
