Emilia-Romagna produces the first sparkling cider of pears

Emilia-Romagna is the region number one in Italy for pears, producing 65% of the entire Italian production.
In Ferrara, an innovative product - the first sparkling cider of pears - has just been presented. Designed and developed by the Istituto Tecnico Agrario Raineri Marcora of Piacenza, this cider is produced with the classic method, brut, with the variety of pears "Doyenne du Comice".
With a lovely pale yellow color and an intense aroma of pear, the cider is perfect for aperitifs or in combination with cheese. This experimental cider offers a very promising variant to classic apple ciders.
