China, the US and South Korea remain the largest destinations.
Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports reached more than US$2.67 billion in the first five months of 2026, up 16% compared with the same period last year, according to the country’s agricultural market information system.
In May alone, export value stood at US$614.788 million, broadly in line with May 2025. China, the United States and South Korea remained the three largest markets for Vietnamese fruit and vegetable shipments.
The report also points to stronger growth in destinations such as the Netherlands, Germany and Malaysia, helping reduce dependence on a limited number of key markets.
Durian remains one of the sector’s main growth drivers. The expansion of approved planting-area codes is supporting stronger export performance for the product, while traditional categories such as dragon fruit, bananas, mangoes and coconuts continue to provide stable volumes.
Vietnam also expects further improvement in the coming months as more key fruits enter peak harvest periods. For exporters, the next stage will depend on supply availability, quality improvement and stronger traceability across production areas.
