Thessaloniki hosts global fresh produce hub
This year’s event is bigger and more global than ever, with participants also attending from across 38 countries.
Over 275 companies from 22 countries will take part in Freskon, the international trade show for fresh fruits and vegetables, happening from April 10 to 12 at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition & Congress Center.
Freskon is a meeting point for growers, supermarkets, and distributors from around the world. This year’s event is bigger and more global than ever, with participants also attending from across 38 countries.
More than 2,000 B2B meetings are planned between exhibitors and around 136 hosted buyers, including special delegations from North Macedonia and Bulgaria.
Running alongside Freskon is the LOGISTICS & TRANSPORTS THESSALONIKI EXPO, which brings together companies from the freight, transport, and logistics industries.
One of the highlights is the FreshCon Market 2025, organized by TIF-HELEXPO and Froutonea, where producers will connect directly with buyers from 17 supermarket chains across Greece, the Balkans, and Southeast Europe.
Freskon will also host several side events in Pavilion 13, focused on innovation and opportunities in agriculture.
Key events include:
-International Pear Congress with expert speakers on pear production and marketing
-A workshop on fig farming, focusing on sustainable practices
-A forum on persimmons as a promising crop
-A talk on the rise of yellow kiwifruit in Greece and beyond
-A seminar on exports, crop trends, and planting innovations
-A presentation on Thracian zeolite as a green solution for water and soil
-An event on food waste reduction and food redistribution, organized by the Central Market of Thessaloniki
Freskon’s official opening will be on Thursday, April 10 at 18:00, with the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Mr. Kostas Tsiaras, in attendance.
