An app to forecast the yields of strawberry fields 21 days in advance

The application allows to know 3 weeks in advance the volumes of production.

To facilitate the marketing of fruit and to allow better coordination with distribution networks, Quebec strawberry producers have an application for smartphones, for the forecasting harvest.

 
 
 
APFFQ (Quebec Association of Strawberry and Raspberry Producers) and IRDA (Institute for Research and Development in Agri-Environment) unveiled a smartphone application, simple and precise, allowing to predict strawberries field yields 21 days in advance.
 
 
 
Available for iPhone and Android. The application predicts from the number of green fruits counted on 60 plants selected at random in a given field.
 
 
 
Major advance for producers that will increase the profitability of their businesses. APFFQ has 550 producers. The province of Quebec is the leading producer of strawberries in Canada and the third largest producer in North America.
