The production of table grapes is compromised

Adverse weather conditions for the production of table grapes in western India.
Maharashtra , the region of the city of Mumbai , recorded disastrous climatic conditions for the production of table grapes. Heavy rains and hailstorms hit the region at a time when the grapes were ready to be harvested , this time with 15 to 20 days behind the usual schedule.
The Association of Producers announced that 80% of crops were affected and estimates that losses could reach 40% of production. These reduced volumes cause higher inevitable price in the Indian market and threaten to limit the usual exports.
In 2014 the producers of the region had exported 1.92 lakh tonne ( 192,000 tonnes) of table grapes to 94 countries. Europe had imported 65,000 tons.
