EU apple trade above average
PE
Due to the good apple crop 2025 around 11,3 million tons, EU export achieved nearly 1,15 million tons by the end of June 2026.
Accumulative export volumes for the 2025 2026 season reached 1,149,000 tons by June 2026, which is nearly 14% above the 5 years average. This demonstrates EU apple industry remains competitive and can regain export markets when its domestic harvest is above average.
Imports down 30%
Opposite happened with the EU apple imports during the same period. They achieved 184,000 tons during 2025 2026 season until June, down 30% from the 5 years average of 261,000 tons between August and June. Both EU imports and export figures for the new season 2026 2027 shall give opposite trends, due to the historical low EU harvest 2026 estimated around 9,5 million tons.
