Cuba opens its market to four Brazilian fresh fruits

Cuban sanitary authorities have accepted the requirements for imports of fresh apples, grapes, pears and oranges from Brazil, according to Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock – MAPA.

The market opening was held on 14 September following notification from the Cuban authorities that the Brazilian export requirements had been approved.

The decision gives Brazilian suppliers access for four fresh-fruit categories under the agreed sanitary conditions. MAPA’s announcement does not provide shipment forecasts, potential volumes or a starting sales value, so no commercial estimate has yet been attached to the opening.
