In the UK, vegetable production has been impacted by adverse weather conditions, which could lead to shortages of certain products.
According to local media reports, heavy rains in the summer, followed by the hottest September on record and a rainy October, have led to crop delays and low yields.
This year's potato harvest is only 4.1 million tonnes, the lowest ever. Brussels sprouts are expected to be smaller. Cauliflower quantities are down. Quantities of broccoli are also down, and it's likely that there won't be enough to meet the usual demand over the Christmas period.
