Sainsbury has confirmed its position as the largest seller of British apples.

Sainsbury has taken first place for retailers for sales of British apples.

Sainsbury announced it sold more than 38,000 tons of British apples this season, more than 300 million fruit. The company expects to sell nearly 11 million additional apples - Braeburn and Bramley

. Sainsbury offers the widest range of apple varieties (52) and pears (10).

This sales record is the result of close collaboration with UK producers and Sainsbury aims to double sales of British food by 2020.
