Vietnam grants market access to Polish blueberries

Vietnam has officially opened its market to fresh blueberries from Poland, following a visit by Vietnamese inspectors to Polish orchards and packing sites, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Vietnam (MAE). The move aims to expand supply and boost competition in Vietnam’s high-priced blueberry market, where retail prices currently reach 1–1.5 million VND per kg (US $40–60).
The Polish season, running June to August, complements southern suppliers like Peru (November–March), ensuring steadier availability. All Polish orchards and facilities must register under Vietnam’s plant quarantine rules before shipments begin.
Poland has become a key European exporter, with 13,000 ha planted and 62,000 tons harvested in 2024. Exports rose 17% year-on-year to nearly 26,000 tons, driven by varietal renewal and growing global demand.
