New sustainable alternative to the heavy wood and plastic chipboard panels that will transform the supply chain
Smurfit Kappa, producer of paper and corrugated cardboard packaging, has created TOPPSafe ™ - a new sustainable alternative to the heavy wood and plastic chipboard panels used to protect products on pallets during transport and storage ("pallet covers").
TOPPSafe ™ is a solution made 100% paper, which is characterized by being light and resistant thanks to its honeycomb structure, which makes it easier to handle and is more appropriate for manual operations. In addition, among its advantages it is supplied completely flat to reduce storage space and is made of totally recyclable material. Best of all, it is suitable for the food industry.
Wim Peeters, Managing Director of Smurfit Kappa Hexacomb, said: "We are very excited about the launch of TOPPSafe ™ because it can have a change on the supply chain. The valuations of customers who have already used it are absolutely positive. A new example of how Smurfit Kappa strives to find high quality solutions in terms of safety, sustainability and innovation”.
This solution has been created thanks to Smurfit Kappa's SupplySmart service, which collects information from more than 60,000 supply chains to identify opportunities and make sustainable changes in the chains of its customers.
