Chile exports more than 81 million boxes of cherries this campaign

The Chilean Cherry Fruit Committee has revealed its second projection for the 2023-2024 season, addressing the climate challenges that have affected this sector.

 

A total of 81,477,564 boxes (5 kilos each) are anticipated as total shipments. This volume reflects a decrease of 14.6% compared to the first estimate provided last October, and slightly lower by 1.89% compared to exports from the previous season (2022-2023).

 

In this context, it was reported that to date 5,249 tons of cherries have been shipped worldwide, with China being the main destination with 88% of this volume.
