By 2014, the volume of retail sales in Asia should be double that of the United States, according to the latest PwC report.
The report "Forecast for the retail and consumer products in Asia 2011", which studies the trends in consumption in China, Japan, Korea and the rest of Asia, was published by Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC ) in collaboration with the Economist Intelligence Unit.
The retail sector will continue to grow. Retail sales in China should increase by about 14% and stay with a 2-digit growth until at least 2014.
PwC predicts that retail giants like Carrefour and Wal-Mart will increase their investments. Rising living standards will change consumer demand.
The report states that retail sales in Asia is expected to reach 5.4 trillion dollars this year, doubling the 2.5 for Europe and well above the 3.83 trillion in North America. In 2014, sales in Asia will be $ 8.57 billion, 4, 53 in North America and 2.74 in Europe.
