New mobile app MyIFCO™ with artificial intelligence will save time and money throughout the supply chain

IFCO, one of the leading global providers of reusable packaging solutions, presented at Fruit Logistica its new  mobile MyIFCO™ app based on artificial intelligence. The company operates a pool of over 314 million Reusable Plastic Containers (RPCs) globally, which are used for over 1.7 billion shipments.

David Paillasson, Sales Director IFCO France, explains what differs IFCO from other companies: “Our RPCs can be used between 30 and 120 times before they are either repaired or recycled. We follow the highest hygiene procedures in washing, rinsing and sanitizing. We constantly monitor via our SmartGuardian^TM technology and validate our process, and run around 100 tests per week to verify the effectiveness of our procedures,” – and adds that RPCs work perfectly at any stage of customer’s automated system: from arrival, storage to conveyor transport, sorting, scanning and picking.

Series of studies, have proven that IFCO RPCs extend shelf life up to 4 days: for grapes it is +1 day, for tomatoes and mushrooms +2 days, from muskmelons + 4 days. David Paillasson explains: “Our RPCs do not absorb humidity. Right ventilation and temperature during transportation allow cutting product waste up to 96%, it means almost nothing is thrown away along the supply chain.”
