For the first time, the format of the event of fruit and vegetables industry of the United States has changed its format. The duration of the event lasted three days with only 2 days for exhibition.

Today, the day is devoted to conferences and diverse workshops.

During the General conference (General Session), the President of PMA, Mr Bryan Silbermann recalled missions of the association:

information, education, to develop both innovation and consumption of fruits and vegetables.

Regarding the eduation, several actions have been hailed as the Women Fresh Perspective program that aims to improve the diversity and representation of female managers in companies with fruits and vegetables.

Similarly, the association has organized programs for young talent identification and their training.

Among other topics discussed by the President of PMA, food security (food safety) and the necessity to develop traceability and transparency.

Mr Silbermann also welcomed the results of recent studies show that Americans are concerned about nutrition advantage.

71% of Americans declare pay more attention to balanced (Healthier food) before eating.
