Exporters from Murcia seek opportunities in Canada
VU
Canada is an attractive market due to its stability and openness to international trade.
Companies from the Region of Murcia have carried out a trade mission to Canada with the aim of identifying new export opportunities for fresh fruits and vegetables. In 2024, Spanish exports to this country reached 40,081 tons worth 64.6 million euros, a drop of 11% in volume and 15% in value compared to the previous year.
Among the most shipped products were oranges, clementines, lemons, peppers and persimmons. In the face of global trade tensions, Canada stands out as an attractive market due to its stability and openness to international trade, although logistical challenges and competition from nearby countries persist.
During the visit, technical and commercial meetings were held, as well as activities to learn about the particularities of the Canadian market and evaluate its potential as part of an international diversification strategy.
