Smart tools for ripening and quality control at Fruit Attraction 2025
Fresh Produce Instruments will present ripening, quality control, and shelf-life extension solutions at Fruit Attraction 2025 in Madrid, Hall 10 Stand A25, with live demos and expert consultations available.
Fresh Produce Instruments, based in the Netherlands, will showcase its latest solutions at Fruit Attraction 2025 in Madrid, taking place from September 30 to October 2, Hall 10, Stand A25. Visitors will be able to explore a wide selection of tools in operation and test them directly at the booth.
Ripening control made simple
Fresh Produce Instruments’ Ethylene Generators are designed to manage ripening rooms up to 500 m³ with consistent accuracy. They help reduce risks, lower costs, and achieve uniform results compared with conventional approaches. This technology is not limited to large corporations — smaller growers, distributors, importers, and even supermarkets can benefit just as much. New operators can start ripening without heavy installation costs, while major retailers can expand capacity easily as they build new rooms. As Greg Akins, CEO of Catalytic Generators, explains: “We make ethylene the easiest part of ripening operations,” allowing businesses to focus on the real priorities: synchronising ripening with demand, ensuring quality, and managing logistics.
Non-destructive quality measurement
In addition to ripening control, the stand will feature advanced quality assessment instruments from partners including Felix Instruments, Sunforest, and Baxlo. These tools measure key parameters such as dry matter, Brix, and colour within seconds, without damaging fruit. From avocados and mangoes to berries, kiwis, and beyond, they help streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve handling decisions across the supply chain.
Protection against mould and spoilage
To extend shelf life and safeguard produce, Airocide® technology will also be presented. Originally created for NASA, Airocide® eliminates mould spores, airborne pathogens, allergens, VOCs, and excess ethylene. Proven results include up to 60% lower weight loss in blueberries, an added week of shelf life for avocados, and effective protection against mould in tomatoes. Flowers, too, benefit from its clean-air technology.
More than instruments
Fresh Produce Instruments’ portfolio extends beyond these highlights. Thanks to close cooperation with leading partners, the company can provide an even broader range of tailored solutions on request.
