Exceptional harvest of avocado this year

New Zealand producers expect an exceptional harvest of avocado, exports could exceed 5 million trays.

The Avanza and Avocco and companies, major exporting firms in the country, believe that the majority will take the destination to Australia, 20% to the United States and 25% to Asia. Asia is becoming a market where New Zealand avocado is still little known.

No exports to Europe because of problems for maintaining the quality. But the sector does not waive these distant expeditions and attempts to overcome technical difficulties.
