Israel suspends exports of carrots to Russia for 3 months.
In protest against lower prices paid by Russian producers Israeli has suspend exports of carrots.
The Producers Association (Vegetable Growers' Association) has decided to suspend carrot exports to Russia for three months. To protest against Russia's decision to pay less carrots.
The Association
will investigate whether exports are financially viable at the new price.
Israel exports 27,000 tons of carrots every month to Russia - 324,000 tons per year. Carrots for the Russian market are larger than those grown for the local market and export for about $ 1.30 / kg (2010).
