Swiss consumers increasingly appreciate Canarian bananas

Since 2017, consumption of bananas from the Canary Islands has increased in Switzerland, and the volume sold for 2019 reaches almost a million kilos.

 

 

 

In December, a 3-week promotion in 250 sale points in one of the largest Swiss distribution chains helped further boost consumption. Since 2017 the consumption of bananas from the Canary Islands has increased. Bananas from the Canary Islands have become a benchmark in terms of quality and taste assurance on the Swiss market.

 

 

 

In mid-December 2019, the total volume sold on the Swiss market was estimated at more than 920,560 kilograms.
