Colombian agricultural exports set a new record in 2021

A record was registered in agricultural exports from Colombia in 2021, reaching $8.496 million with the Duque government's 'Sanitary Diplomacy' strategy, with which they achieved admissibility to 27 countries, surpassing 112% of the main goal of the National Plan of Developing.
Between January and November 2020, exports reached $7.027 million, and increased to 8.496 million in the same period of 2021 (+20.9%).
In terms of admissibility, the Minister of Agriculture Rodolfo Zea highlighted the cases of Hass avocado to Korea. In addition, he announced the new opening of the US market for the national mango.
According to the report of the National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane), traditional products such as bananas and coffee participated with 62.8%, totaling $5.334 million with a variation of 22.2% compared to 2020. In turn, non-traditional products constituted 37.2%. Among those products, the total sum was $3.162 million, with a significant rise in Tahiti lime (+60.3%); avocado (+50%) and passion fruit (+55.1%), among others.
The main destination markets for Colombian supplies in 2021 were the United States, with about $3,147 million, and a 37% share; Belgium, with $447 million and a percentage of 5.3%; the Netherlands, with $399 million (4.7%); and Germany, with $362 million (+ 4.3%).
