Bananas: Cameroon's export volumes continue to fluctuate

According to Assobacam data, the volume of bananas exported in February 2024 reached 15,248 tonnes. This represents a drop of 11.69% compared to the 22,521 tonnes exported in January 2024 (Photo: businessfinanceint.com).
Cameroon is the 2nd largest producer in the ACP (Africa-Caribbean-Pacific) zone, behind Côte d'Ivoire. Cameroon exports its bananas mainly to the European market.
According to Assobacam data (Cameroon Banana Association), the volume of bananas exported in February 2024 reached 15,248 tonnes. This represents a drop of 11.69% compared with the 22,521 tonnes exported in January 2024.
The volume exported in January 2024 represented -32.29% compared to the 25,503 tonnes exported in December 2023. The volume exported in December 2023 represented +34.07% of the 19,022 tonnes exported in November 2023. The volume exported in November 2023 represented -6.86% compared to the 20,416 tonnes exported in October 2023.
The average volume exported over these 5 months was 20,542 tonnes.
