Chilean kiwis make their first promotion campaign in India

This campaign should lead to a strengthening of the Indian demand for Chile's kiwifruit.

Chilean exporters launched the first kiwifruit promotion campaign in India to take advantage of the exceptional (85%) increase in their shipments over the last year.

Chilean exports to India increased from $3 million in 2016 to $5.7 million in 2017. India is today the No. 12 destination of a total of 70 countries to which Chile provides kiwis. The campaign highlighting the "Chile" kiwifruit origin targets traders, retailers and consumers.

Chile plans this year to increase its total exports by 3%. In 2017 the country exported 193,000 tons of kiwifruit, it is the 3rd largest exporter behind New Zealand and Italy.
