World demand of Chilean blueberries increased by 7.2%

The 2020-2021 blueberry campaign in Chile is coming to an end with 115.907 tons exported. This is a rise of 7.2 % compared to 2019-20, according to the ASOEX Chilean Blueberry Committee.

55 % of the total went to North America, 35 % to Europe and 10 % to the Far East. A climate without rain in the south-central and southern zones of Chile has favored progress without interruptions.

Chilean blueberry exports at week 8 of 2021 reached 2.618 tons.

Organic blueberries exports totaled 20.388 tons. It is an increase of 32 % compared to the previous year. North America has shown a 38 % increase in imports from Chile and Europe has shown a 15 % growth.
