Pineapples certified for export to Europe

In Mozambique, producer of pineapple from the Muxungué District received the organic international certificate which allows them to export their products to European markets.

 
This is the German company BCS-Oeko Guarantir which has awarded the organic international certification. This certification will allow the export of pineapples to Europe. The 3,500 farmers who grow pineapples in the area are grouped in the association: MOFA (Muxungué Organic Farmer Association).

 
A first contingent of 700 tons of pineapples will be exported to the Netherlands and Denmark next month. If producers of Muxungué meet European market requirements, the Trade Minister plans to expand production to other parts of the country.
