"La France à Rungis" Campaign

Rungis Market is promoting French produce with the campaign "La France à Rungis", a comprehensive program for the promotion of French goods.
For fruits and vegetables on June 20 and 21 June entertainment was organised in partnership the chamber of trade union wholesalers (S'FL) and producers (AIDPFL), in Halls A2, A3, B2, C2, D2, D3 , E1F, E2 and E3. Over 30 wholesalers were at the event and 66 producers.
Rungis Market saw food produced in France reach 682,000 tons. French produce took up the majority of sales in 2011 in the sectors: catering products (64%), meat products (57%), vegetables (56%), but less in fruits (31%) and flowers (20% ). The French trade balance is heavily in deficit in fresh fruit (- 1.6 million tonnes) and vegetables (- 800 000 tons).
