British strawberries have arrived at Waitrose catering for predicted high demand for "super summer".
A record for British strawberries, now available at Waitrose.
Waitrose sees this year as the year of the strawberriy with the the Queen's Golden Jubilee and the Olympics on the calendar. These events should mean a larger consumption of strawberries.
To be able to meet the anticipated demand for this "super summer", Waitrose has planted nearly an additional 30% and
the season is earlier this year due to the mild winter.
The strawberries come from the area of Chichester, Hall Hunter Partnership greenhouses, a provider of Waitrose for 20 years. They are sold £ 3.99 / 225g (4.75 €).
