Camposol foresees hundreds of acres of blueberries
FJ | Camposol SA
After reducing the surfaces of asparagus (our news of 21.01), Camposol increases the surfaces of blueberries.
This year Camposol will add 250-280 hectares to 120 hectares in La Libertad, for a total of 400 acres of blueberries. Camposol started in the field of blueberries in 2011, beginning to export small quantities. This phase of testing went well, and the company is now ready to expand production and export.
In 2011, thanks to the Perú Berries program, launched by Sierra Exportadora, 72 hectares were planted. In 2012, the surfaces of blueberries program increased to 170 acres, this year it should reach 500, and in 2020 5,000.
For Peruvians professionals, blueberries are the most profitable product for the coming years. Despite a significant investment (at least $ 40,000 / ha), high profitability and strong international demand make it an interesting culture.
