While some crops are gaining ground, others face declines due to weather conditions or market changes.
Peruvian agro-exports reached US$2.884 billion in the first quarter of 2025, reflecting a 21.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to data from the Exporters Association (ADEX). Fresh fruits were the main driver of this growth.
Grapes topped the list with US$769.7 million in exports (+67.1%), followed by blueberries (US$230.9 million, -31.5%), mangoes (US$207.7 million, +16.4%), and avocados (US$173.6 million, -17.8%).
The mixed performance paints a varied picture: while some crops are expanding, others are seeing declines due to weather impacts or shifting market conditions. ADEX warns that the heavy reliance on a limited number of products and destinations leaves the sector vulnerable to external shocks. As a result, it calls for greater diversification and a stronger focus on value-added products.
