"New Horizons for Blueberries" is the theme chosen for this 2017 summit.
After Chile, Mexico, Australia, Argentina and Uruguay, this year's IBO SUMMIT, the world's biggest blueberries festival, is hosting this year in Qujing (Yunnan) region, the main blueberry production bases in China.
The IBO (International Blueberry Organization) aims to bring together the world's blueberry leaders in all segments of the industry, collect and share information and promote a common goal of increased blueberry consumption.
In China, the outlook for the blueberry market is very positive, demand is strong and growing. The country has an excellent production base in Qujing (Yunnan). The region has 870 hectares of blueberries, accounting for 50% of total blueberry production in Yunnan. By 2020, blueberry production will reach 2500 tonnes in Qujing at an estimated value of 250 million yuan (38.3 million USD).
