Prices rose to 25.4% for fruits and 5.9% for vegetables

ROSSTAT, the statistical service of the Russian state has communicated its data on food prices.
For the period January to July 2015 food prices increased by 10.6% compared to the same period in 2014. The bread and cereals increased by + 11.6% and + 7% for meat.
Fruits recorded the highest increase with + 25.4% for the period January-July 2015 compared to the same period in 2014. Vegetable prices were up by 5.9%.
However, the upward trend appears to be slowing down. In May, food prices fell for the first time since the beginning of the year with -0.1% compared to April. In July, the decline amounted to 0.5% compared to June.
