The balance sheet is one of heavy damage for agriculture and agribusiness
Damage from earthquakes in Emilia-Romagna is now being calculated with COLDIRETTI announcing an amount of 705 million euros in damage to the agricultural sector.
Thousands of farms are affected with damage to structures (barns, warehouses, stables) will also amount to
400 million euros with more than 8000 jobs lost in agriculture and agribusiness. Chains such as Parmigiano Reggiano and Grana Padano have been particularly hit.
The affect on Emilia-Romagna region is important as it represents 10% of total Italian production.
