Bonduelle acquires Allens frozen vegetable sites

Bonduelle has acquires the sites of Allens frozen vegetables and became one of the main players in the prepared vegetable market in North America.
Bonduelle continues to expand outside Europe with the acquisition of Allens frozen vegetable sites in the United States.
Allens is a family business founded in 1926, native of Arkansas. Allens has diversified from canned vegetables into the frozen vegetables. In 2011, sales of Allens frozen vegetables represented volumes of about 150,000 tons.
The transaction includes four of Allens five manufacturing sites, the brands Chill Ripe and Garden Classic and a right to use trademarks and Veg-All Allens for a period of 18 months.
Bonduelle North America
, headquartered in Canada, produces over 335,000 tons of vegetables and exports 30% in the U.S., mainly frozen. This acquisition will allow it to fuel sales growth and become one of the main players in the prepared vegetable sector in North America.
